This is an electrical fault, not a C-Bus fault
The pattern you described points away from the control system and towards the electrical supply itself. This is the one verdict in this tool with a hard stop attached.

This one is mains work. Stop here and book a licensed electrician. Switchboards, DIN-rail power supplies, dimmer and relay modules, and anything behind a faceplate are all live electrical work. There is no safe DIY version of this check.
Ask for an electrician with C-Bus accreditation if you can get one. A general electrician can safely isolate, test and replace hardware, but most cannot program the system afterwards, which is the half that makes your lights behave again.
What told us it is electrical rather than C-Bus
- Things that are not on C-Bus are dead too
- If a power point or a conventional light in the same area has no power, the control system is not the common factor. The circuit is.
- A breaker or RCD has tripped
- Protective devices trip because something made them. That something is an electrical fault until proven otherwise.
- It trips straight back when reset
- The clearest signal in the whole tool. There is fault current flowing right now.
- Burning smell, heat, discolouration, buzzing from the board
- Stop reading and get someone out. Do not wait to work out which module it is.
Why repeatedly resetting is the wrong move
Resetting a breaker once to see whether it holds is reasonable and normal. Resetting one that trips straight back, again and again, is not. The device is doing exactly the job it was installed to do, and each reset pushes fault current through a fault you have not found. RCDs in particular trip because current is escaping to earth, and the most common path to earth in a house is a person. If it will not hold, leave it off and call someone.
What to tell the electrician
Being precise here saves you money, because the first thing they charge for is working out what you meant. Have ready: which circuit or breaker is involved and what it is labelled, exactly what is dead and what still works, whether anything non-C-Bus is affected, when it started, and whether anything changed just before, such as new appliances, building work, storms or water.
Add one sentence that will save confusion on arrival: "the house has a Clipsal C-Bus lighting control system". A general electrician can safely find and fix an electrical fault in a C-Bus house without touching the control system at all, but they should know it is there before they start, so they recognise the pink network cable and leave it alone.
When to come back to this tool
If the electrician clears the electrical fault and the lighting control still misbehaves, then you have two separate problems and the second one is ours. Come back to the diagnoser and start again from the symptom that is left. That sequence is quite common after a storm: a surge causes both a protective device to operate and a module to fail, and the second fault is only visible once the first is fixed.
